Both classes are open to all levels; the Gentle Yoga is a slower class made up of calm, flowing movements with a conscious connection with the breath. There will be a focus on relieving stiffness in the joints and muscles and on relieving tension. There will also be some light strengthening work to re balance and re align the body.
The later Yoga session is also a flowing class, with a conscious connection with the breath, but with more dynamic sequences. There are more static poses in this class and stronger strengthening practices.
Yoga teaches us how to expand the breath to increase energy and vitality, to enable full use of the breath so the body can function properly. It teaches us tools to see from the inside out, rather than the outside in, to become more in tune with ourselves and with what we really need. The practice of Yoga re balances the body and mind, establishing the relationship with each other and with that of the self.
